When
i visisted the park it was as hot as hell and the flies where biting something
fierce. I remember going here when i was a kid to see the show. I remember hiking
and it was hotter than hell then also. It has grown up around the entrance to
the park which makes for a kinda low expectation scenario because its kinda
messy. The view of the permian basin is quite specatacular but did i say that
it was hotter than hell. The State needs to add some more land around the lip
of the park so that patrons can observe the park from more vistas. The visitor
center seems like it hasn't been updated from when i was a kid they have virtually
no botanical information except for some simple specimens. there is no dicussion
about the rare and unussual habitat. This is pretty much a Texas park underfunded
overused. Public parks in Texas really have never been a high priority for as
long as i can remember in Texas. If your going to visit go in the spring or
fall because any other time its hotter than hell
I
can't say anything about the musical because i didn't catch the show, but it
is suppose to be one of the longest running show anywhere i think . . . . more
later
None
of my photos for Palo Duro are very good Icouldn't seem to get a good view and
i was in a rush. These images are as you enter the park.
Below
was where i was bitten by the flies.
These
last two are photos on the way to Palo Duro Canyon. These are the permian canyons.
