This botanical center is truely an arboretum. which is what you should expect for the American northwest. The trees are massive the layout is expansive. There are collections of sorbus, and malus, acer, abies, picea pinus prunus, cornus, quercus, rhododendron, magnolia. If you read the future collections page you get a great insight as to how an arboretum should be conceived of as a learning environment. In Austin Texas this thinking is quite foreign.
